Invited speakers
P'ng Loke, PhD
Dr. P'ng Loke completed his Ph.D. research at the University of Edinburgh on IL-4 activated macrophages responding to Brugia malayi filarial parasites in 2001. He then did postdoctoral research on costimulatory molecules at University of California-Berkeley and studied macrophage responses to different parasites at University of California-San Francisco. In 2009, he joined New York University School of Medicine as an assistant professor and was a tenured associate professor before he joined the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases as a senior investigator in 2020.

Emily Jenkins, PhD, DVM, BSc
Dr. Emily Jenkins (PhD, DVM, BSc), is Professor, Department of Veterinary Microbiology, Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan and adjunct at University of Manitoba. Her research takes a One Health approach to parasites and diseases that transmit among animals and people via food, water, vectors, and the environment in the North. She has over 20 years of experience in the Canadian North, training over 50 undergraduate research and graduate students, and producing over 100 peer-reviewed publications. She co-leads the Canadian Arctic One Health network and the University of Saskatchewan One Health signature area, and is Canadian representative to the Terrestrial Working Group of the International Arctic Science Committee. She is a western Canadian representative on the Canadian Parasitology Expert Panel and serves on the editorial advisory boards of the International Journal for Parasitology – Parasites and Wildlife, and Food and Waterborne Parasitology.
